Ronald “Loren” Green was born October 30, 1966, and passed away April 26, 2026, at the age of 59.
He was a man who never met a stranger and never turned his back on someone in need. Known for his easy smile and endless stories, he had a way of making everyone feel like an old friend. A true social butterfly, he seemed to know everyone, and if he didn’t, it wouldn’t take long before he did.
He spent over two decades working as a dedicated operator at International Paper, where his strong work ethic and reliability earned the respect of coworkers and friends alike. But beyond his work, it was the outdoors where he felt most at home. Whether he was hunting at daybreak, fishing until sunset, or riding his side-by-side down back roads and trails, he found peace and joy in nature.
A jack of all trades, there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix, build, or figure out. He was the kind of man people called when they needed help, and he always showed up, no questions asked. Generous to a fault, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.
Above all else, his greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren. They were the center of his world, the light in his life, and the reason behind his biggest smiles. Time spent with them was what he cherished most, and the love he had for them was unmatched.
He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Jolley and husband Austin, and Kami Ellis and husband Kyle; grandchildren, Kynsleigh Jolley, Lane Jolley, Madison Jolley, Avrie Ellis, Aubrie Ellis, and Luke “Hoss” Ellis; brother, Allen Green and wife Laura; and numerous extended family, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Buddy Green; mother, Ruth Green; and granddaughter, Madilyn Jolley.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2026, at Dorman – Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Dorman – Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Rev. Damon Bickham will be officiating. Interment to follow at Trout Creek Cemetery Call, Texas.
