Join us on select Saturdays through May for free family-friendly educational programs designed for children ages 4-12 and their families. With a wide range of topics, there is something for everyone!

Toddler Tales
May 5, 12, 19 & 26 from 10-11 a.m.
Join us for a magical experience! This free program is designed for children ages 1-3 and their grown-ups. Bring your little adventurer for a delightful storybook reading followed by self-guided activities that can be enjoyed at your own pace in the beautiful Garden space until 11 a.m.

Wellness Wednesdays
May 6, 13, 20 & 27 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. (Last Garden entry at 6:30 p.m.)
Walk your way to better health, energize your mind with meditation, read a book or watch nature’s art. Guests of all ages and fitness levels are invited to take a journey through the Garden for mind, body and soul rejuvenation. Each Wednesday, we offer a free gentle yoga class for adults at 10:30 a.m. (check in at 10–10:15 a.m.). You’ll learn unique connections within the body to increase muscle elasticity, loosen joints and gain flexibility. Bring your yoga mat and dress comfortably as this class is held outdoors.

Gardener’s Guide Series: Fertilizers 101
May 7 at 10 a.m.
Familiarize yourself with the ins and outs of gardening basics on the first Thursday of March, April, May and June. This free, informative program begins at 10 a.m. and will last approximately one hour. In May, join us to learn the different types of fertilizers, how to read a fertilizer label, and the best times to feed plants in your landscape.

Adult Workshop Series: Let’s Talk Terrariums!
May 16 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Terrariums are a self-sustaining mini-ecosystem in a jar! Discover how to build, care and maintain a thriving terrarium through this hands-on workshop. Supplies and materials are included with the $40 workshop fee.

Up Close with Nature: Live Animal Programs
May 30 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Join us on the last Saturday of each month through October for Up Close with Nature! Our Wildlife Educator/Animal Curator, Robert Morgan, features one or more live animals that call Shangri La Gardens home. During these exciting and informative programs, you will meet local critters, learn about their adaptations, what they eat and what might eat them. This is a free, family friendly, come and go style program.
