WOS 26 LCM 13

The West Orange-Stark Mustangs rolled up nearly 400 yards offense, keeping the LCM Bears hands off of the Orange Bowl trophy for another year, in a 26-13 win.  The Mustangs evenly distributed the ball with 211 passing (Jack Dallas 18-25-3TD) and 171 on the ground (116 rushing by Melech Edwards).  The Bears kept it interesting with two long plays, a 50 yard TD pass from Beau Bickham to Sam King and a 50 yd run by Chris Winters that set up the Bears other score.  They finished the night with 186 yds in their new Wing T offense.  LCM will host Barbers Hill and WOS travels to PNG next week. Cards Upset Ranked Kirbyville

“V” for Victory and Volleyball

All of our area teams that turned in scores were winners Friday! The 5th ranked Deweyville Lady Pirates defeated the 7th ranked Woodville Eagles Friday night in four games ( 25-14, 22-25, 25-11, 25-22).  The win moves Deweyville's record on the season to 14-2.  Kennidee Willis tallied 29 kills on the night to go along with 23 digs, 2 blocks, and 2 aces.  Shaylin Dupuy dished out 40 assists and added 2 aces and 6 digs.  Gabby Dupuy had 21 digs.  Mallory Hand contributed 3 kills and 5 blocks.  Haylee Ladner pitched in 4 kills, 11 digs, 1 ace, and 2 blocks.  Josey Hutto added 2 blocks, a kill, … [Read more...] about “V” for Victory and Volleyball

Accident Friday in Mauriceville

At approximately 1:30pm, there was a three vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 62 in Mauriceville.  The crash involved a commercial motor vehicle. A 2013 Freightliner flatbed truck was stopped for a red traffic light at the intersection of Highway 12 and Highway 62.  A 2010 Chevrolet Utility van was traveling eastbound on Highway 12 and ran into the back of the Freightliner.  Debris from the collision struck a 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck that was stopped in the outside lane of Highway 12.  The driver of the Chevrolet Utility van, Sylvester Hill, 50, of Beaumont, was … [Read more...] about Accident Friday in Mauriceville

Rear End Reverse Accident

No serious injuries were reported in a two-car collision that happened on 16th Street Thursday after a car backing out of a parking lot went across lanes of traffic and hit a car stopped for a traffic light. The 83-year-old man driving the Chevrolet Lumina that was in reverse gear told Orange police that his brakes didn't work. He thinks the accelerator also stuck. Police did not see skid marks. Wesley “Bubba Joe” Ford, 66, of Orangefield, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2015, at his home. Funeral services will be at 11:00am, Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Clary Chesson and Ralph Hoffpauir. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00pm, Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
