Orange police officers had to use a Taser to subdue a man resisting arrest on warrants for sexual assault. Eric Dwight Geral was wanted on two motions to impose guilt for violations of felony probation from the 128th District Court on sexual assault with a victim under 17 years of age, according to District Attorney John Kimbrough. Elected officials salaries Commissioners held a workshop Monday morning on elected officials’ salaries and then a lengthy discussion about whether to raise those salaries during their regular meeting. County Judge Brint Carlton was in favor of freezing elected officials’ salaries. Carlton stated that elected officials’ pay should be set, and that he should receive no more for his second term than he got in his first term. Clovis James Dumesnil, 92, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2015, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Many Show Support For Vincent
What started as a local benefit in Lake Charles for Trooper Steven Vincent, who was shot dead following a traffic stop last week, turned into a huge event Sunday at the LC Civic Center. A Louisiana Jeep Club reportedly started the event and it carried over to car clubs, motorcycles, and more from Louisiana and Texas. A procession that started near Houston reached some four miles long according to authorities by the time it got to Orange, where a large group had assembled at the Orange Boat Ramp and then joined in. Back When A couple of days ago on the KOGT radio morning show, we started talking about hamburgers. Lawrence Gant called and said he used to love the ones served at the Bengal Cafe and that set us to thinking about burgers we loved. In these days of chain restaurants, every burger is the same.
