A family lost their home and their dog on Easter after a fire Sunday afternoon. Firefighters from Deweyville along with Emergency Services District 3 & 4 were called to the home on County Road 4191 in Newton County near Hartburg. When they arrived the home was fire was coming through the roof. The preliminary cause is believed to be electrical. None of the family were injured but it was reported they did lose a family pet. Bobcats make it five straight. On Monday, Sunset was the host course for day 1 of the District 22 AAA golf championships. The Bobcats team consisting of Davey Hogg, Owen Sims, Gavin Gravett, Peyton Revia and Andrew Burt posted a 337 team total, putting them on top. The Bobcats were led by Davey Hogg firing an opening round 81, followed by Owen Sims’s 82, placing them in medalist contention.
