
Orange County Health Inspectors made their rounds in the month of March. A host of eating establishments scored a 100 including:

The Donut Palace in Vidor scored an 84.
Some of the violations included finding eggs, sausage kolaches out of temperatures. Venti hoods need to be cleaned of old grease build up. Out side of equipment needs to be cleaned of old food build up. Floors in back kitchen area need to be cleaned of old food build up and debris.
IB Cheapers (Hwy.12) scored an 80.
Violations included: several expired foods on the sales floor shelves. Handwashing sink was full of dishes and no paper towels. Handwashing sink needs to be accessible at all times and supplied with soap and paper towels. Venti hood above the pizza oven needs to be cleaned of dust build up. Pizza oven needs to be cleaned of old food build up. Several ceiling tiles in the back are still missing. Holes in the ceiling above the pizza oven need to be repaired. Hole in the wall behind pizza oven needs to be repaired. Hole in the wall under handwashing sink needs to be repaired.
Ming’s Buffet (Vidor) scored a 77.
Violations included: Found foods on buffet not hold at proper temperatures. Found a Diet Coke 20 ounce bottle being stored inside the ice container at the front drink station. Employee drinks should be stored properly in an area marked for employees only. Ice scoop at front drink station being stored directly on top of the drink station. The ice scoop needs to be stored inside bucket/container when not in use. Found food handler (Cook) wearing open toe shoes (flip flops). Close toe shoes are required for all kitchen staff. Lots of mice feces found in back storage room. Immediate cleaning and sanitizing is needed in this area of the kitchen. Outside of containers, vents at the vent-a-hood and shelves throughout need to be cleaned of old food/grease build up. Floors and walls throughout need to be cleaned of old foods.
