The Bridge City Lady Cardinals are District Champions after coming back to beat the LCM Lady Bears 8-4 Tuesday on Senior Night. They’ll share the title with Silsbee who beat Vidor 8-3.
Tied at one going into the bottom of the fourth, Senior Kaylynne Christian doubled to score two and give the Cards their first lead at 3-1. In the top of the 5th LCM had the bases loaded and Halynn Trosclair had a sac fly to score one but that’s all the Bears would get in the inning after Senior Gabby Moore got the ball in quickly to Cheyenne Mendoza who made the double play tag on Sarah Taylor to end the inning.

The Cards put up a crooked letter in the fifth. With two on Peyton Dupuis hit a bomb over the centerfield fence off of Cambree Ewing who had come in for starter Tessa Erickson. It was Dupuis’ first homer of the season.
The Bears scratched a run in the sixth to make it 6-3 but the Cards came back in the bottom of the inning with two more on a sac fly RBI by Moore and a Dupuis single.
LCM would score in the seventh to make it 8-4 and then load the bases to increase the intensity. But C. Ewing would hit one off the glove of LaComb. She would retrieve the ball, spin and make the throw in time to get the runner and end the contest. One of six seniors honored, LaComb battled all night for the complete game win.
BC and Silsbee will have a playoff because both teams will be going into the 4AD2 playoff bracket. LCM and Vidor will represent the district in 4AD1.
