Roy Price, 87, of Bryan, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in Bryan, Texas. A time for family to receive friends will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. noon on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan. Funeral services celebrating his life will begin at 2 p.m. at the church. Entombment will follow at Restever Memorial Park Cemetery in Bryan. Coach Cornel Thompson and the WOS Mustangs football team were honored with a parade and ceremony Sunday. Coach T shows the proclamation and key to the city from the city of Orange. Jerry Milford Standley, Sr., 75 of Orange passed away at this home peacefully Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Little White Crosses In Orange
Phillip Clark was spray painting dozens of wooden crosses laying flat on grass next to The Palms Event Center. He's one of the volunteers with Little White Crosses Orange County, a group building, constructing and giving away crosses. Sonia Smith and her husband, Eric, live in Orangefield and have a ministry for the homeless. She said after the nativity was moved from Orange City Hall in December, they wanted a way for Christians to show solidarity with their faith. "We as Christians have to stand up. Parliamentary Procedure
For the second week in a row the Commissioners Court will have an agenda item on adopting parliamentary procedures for its meetings when it meets on Tuesday. County Judge Brint Carlton put the item on the agenda initially for the first meeting of the year saying it would help move the meetings along. Commissioner David Dubose has requested the item be discussed again. Dubose says he has some questions he wants clarified on the parliamentary procedures approved by the Court. Bridge City Mayor Kirk Roccaforte has served his city for over a decade. He has also served six years on the board of the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission (SETRPC). Roccaforte has been elected to be the new president of the regional commission. Mayor Roccaforte said he is honored to be a small part of the commission and on its board.
