Born on March 1, 1950 in Orange, Texas to her parents, Melvin Boyette and Elizabeth Ann (Chandler) Boyett, she was a lifelong resident of the Orange and Bridge City area and she worked as a custodian at the Bridge City Intermediate School in Bridge City. On Tuesday July 7, 2015 The BCISD Board of Trustees voted to hire the following new head coaches: Skylar Rowley - Girls Soccer (replaces Cassie Bearden). Rowley was an assistant coach at Kirbyville. Kayla Gallardo - Softball (replaces Miste Henderson). Gallardo was an assistant at Orangefield and had taken the Head Softball job at Hardin-Jefferson. But opted out when the Bridge City job came open. Larry Sterling - Boys Basketball (replaces Tony Knight). Sterling comes from Vidor where he was the head basketball coach. A pickup truck ran into the front porch of a house on 14th Street in Orange Tuesday morning. Orange police report the 44-year-old driver was arrested for driving under the influence. Officer J.E. Roy gathered loose anti-anxiety prescription pills and a cold beer as evidence. No injuries were reported and Officer Roy said damage to the porch was minor. The accident was reported at 9:30 in the 1200 block of 14th Street. Officer Roy said when he got there a 1985 Chevrolet pickup truck was against the concrete slab of the porch. Worker Dies At Rescar
On Monday, July 6, 2015, around 10:10 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call about an unresponsive male at Rescar Industries located at 1993 Foreman Road in Orange. When Deputies arrived, they discovered that one of the workers was found unresponsive inside of a tank car by another employee. The employees gathered safety equipment to hoist the man’s body out of the tank car and onto a stretcher. There were no signs of life and the Justice of the Peace Precinct #2 Judge Dunn ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
