An undercover officer went to the house of a couple charged with murder for hire Thursday afternoon. The officer recorded the couple offering to give a vehicle in exchange for killing a man who invaded the couple's house two weeks earlier, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the Orange County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 office. Man Shot In Vidor Identified
On Thursday, October 29, 2015, around 9:10 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 400 block of Florence St., in Orange County, just outside the city limits of Vidor, Texas, in reference to a possible shooting. Deputies arrived on scene and found Steve Coutee, 48, of Vidor deceased from gunshot wounds. The person believed to be responsible for shooting the man was on scene and cooperated with the Deputies. Big Permit Issued
Orange County has issued a permit for construction of a $40 million terminal near the Neches River for liquefied gas. Enterprise Terminalling LLC is part of Enterprise Products. The site is off Old Mansfield Ferry Road in the Orangefield school district. Enterprise Products chose Orange County as a finalist for a $1.25 billion project in late 2013 but announced in June 2014 the terminal would go to the Port of Houston. Two Caught
Orange police Wednesday night caught two juveniles at an apartment complex laundry room where two previous break-ins had occurred during the past few days. Officer Brian Latiolais reported that Officer Dustin Myers went into the parking lot at the James Zay Roberts Apartments, 610 Burton Avenue, a few minutes before 8 p.m. Officer Myers saw two juveniles were walking away from the door to the laundry room.
