Mauriceville Elementary Student Council Officers attended the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA) Leadership Workshop in Galveston and received the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Excellence Award. Holiday in the Park Cancelled
Due to the prediction of heavy rains for the upcoming weekend, the decision has regretfully been made to cancel this year’s “Holiday in the Park” festival. Orange Store Robbed At Gunpoint
On Sunday, November 01, 2015, at 8:51 am, Officers with the City of Orange Police Department were dispatched to 1012 Park Avenue, Honey Stop, in reference to an Aggravated Robbery. Upon arrival, officers made contact with store employee. The suspect was described by the employee as a black male who entered the business wearing a mask, brandishing a firearm and demanding money. The male obtained an undetermined amount of currency and fled the store on foot. Kay Collier, 64, lifelong resident of Orange, passed away Friday, October 29, 2015, at her home. A memorial service will be at 6:00p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Trinity Baptist Church.
