Rhonda Elizabeth Statum, 67, of Orangefield, Texas, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, September 14, 2026. A native of Beaumont, Rhonda was a longtime resident of Orangefield and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Rhonda was a member of Mauriceville All Gospel (MAG) Church. She retired after 25 years of dedicated service as a Financial Manager for the State of Texas. While she took great pride in her career and the work she accomplished, her greatest joy in life was found in the people she loved.
Rhonda had a gentle appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. She loved caring for her plants, watching birds, and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of being outside and taking in the beauty of nature. But above all else, Rhonda loved her family. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and those moments were among the most precious parts of her life.
For 36 years, Rhonda shared her life with her beloved husband, Will. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and countless memories. She was the heart of her family, and her love and presence brought comfort and happiness to those around her. Her family will forever cherish the memories of her laughter, her kindness, and the special moments they shared together.
Rhonda is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Will Statum of Orangefield, Texas; her children, Maranda Talley of Magnolia, Texas, Brittany Owens of Orangefield, Texas, Kelli Vaughan and her husband Michael of The Woodlands, Texas, and Kevin Statum and his wife Morgan of Little Cypress, Texas; her father, Walter Evans of Newton, Texas; her sister, Becky Garner and her husband Jim of Buna, Texas; her brothers, Ricky Evans and his wife Shelia of Kirbyville, Texas, and Tim Evans and his wife Betty of Orangefield, Texas; her nine grandchildren, Gavin Folsom, Jess Folsom, Mattie Owens, Lizzie Brown, Reagan Quiroz, Karsyn Vaughan, Brax Vaughan, Paisley Statum, and Jamisyn; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Evans, and her brother, Walter “Mickey” Evans Jr.
Rhonda’s family will miss her more than words can express. Though her absence leaves a tremendous emptiness in their hearts, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with them forever. Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply, and through them, a part of Rhonda will always live on.
