The council chamber at City Hall was a full house for a workshop Tuesday to discuss the possibility of an affordable housing project coming to Bridge City. Arx Advantage from Austin and the Park Company out of Mississippi want to build 55 single family units on Martin Street in Bridge City. Representatives from the two companies twice previously spoke to the City Council seeking a support resolution from the council. There are three candidates for the position of executive director for the Orange County Economic Development Corporation. The Board of Directors for the Economic Development Corporation met Wednesday morning and reviewed the applications received for the position of executive director. County Judge Brint Carlton chaired the meeting. Carlton said three applications were received by the deadline and two applications came in late. Travis Clark, 82, of Orange, Texas, passed away February 9, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
