The Celebration of Life for Mr. Wilbert “Mickey” Wallace will be held during Memorial Services, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10am at Sparrow Funeral Home. Disposition is Cremation.
Wilbert Brent Wallace was born on June 22, 1949, in Orange, to Lola McClelland and S.W. Wallace.
He peacefully departed this life on April 18, 2026, at Focus Care Nursing Home in Orange, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family.
Wilbert, lovingly known as “Mickey,” was a lifelong resident of Orange. He attended Emma H. Wallace High School and went on to become a hardworking and dedicated provider. He spent many years employed at the Bayer Plant and later with the Orange Housing Authority, where he built lasting relationships and was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
Mickey was a man of faith and worshipped at El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He carried a quiet strength and a kind spirit that touched everyone who crossed his path.
He had a deep love for life and for the people in it. Mickey enjoyed spending time with his family, laughing, telling stories, and playing bingo—one of his favorite pastimes. Whether surrounded by loved ones or simply enjoying the moment, he had a way of making people feel comfortable and appreciated. His fun-loving personality, warm smile, and sense of humor will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
Mickey was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, proudly cheering on his team through every season.
And above all, he cherished his role as a brother, father, grandfather, and friend. The love he gave so freely will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory six sons: Wilbert “Snapper” Wallace Jr., Mikivon “Henry” Wallace, and Wilbert Brent Wallace III, all of Orange, Texas; Zachariah Wallace and Zai Wallace, both of Beaumont, Texas; and Adrain Wallace (Norma Grande) of Houston, Texas; two daughters: Lola “Nikki” Lewis of Houston, Texas, and Moriah Wallace of Orange, Texas; two brothers, W.D. “Bubba D” Wallace Sr. (Shelia) and Daryl Bowens (Trenette) of Orange, Texas; one sister, Lois Smith of Orange, Texas; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his son, Marlon “Cookie Monster” Wallace, his parents, Lola McClelland-Wallace, and S.W. Wallace; his sister, Gloria Brown; and his brother, Floyd Wallace Sr.
Mickey’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and strength. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
