Alfred “Moby” LeDeaux was born January 10, 1939, and passed away April 27, 2026, at the age of 87.
He will be remembered as a fun-loving man who brought energy, laughter, and warmth wherever he went. He had a way of making everyday moments feel special, whether it was through a shared meal, a good story, or simply his easygoing presence.
He found joy in the outdoors, spending his time fishing, camping, and riding his four-wheeler or golf cart whenever he had the chance. He appreciated the simple pleasures, fresh air, open spaces, and good company. When he wasn’t outside, he could often be found in his barroom, where he would entertain friends and family.
In the kitchen, he was in his element. He could cook just about anything, and he did it with pride. Known as the “king of spice,” he had a special love for bold flavors and spicy food. His rice and gravy and his gumbo were favorites that brought people together and kept them coming back for more.
He was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone without hesitation. Generous, dependable, and kind-hearted, he made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His legacy is one of laughter, good food, hard work, and a life lived with a full and giving heart. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all.
He is survived by his children, Lynette LeDeaux and husband Frankie, Donald LeDeaux and wife Shirley, Paul Cornell and wife Chris, and Renee Stanley and husband Randall; mother of his children, Jean LeDeaux; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; great nephew, Jody Mouton and wife Tina; and numerous extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Eliza LeDeaux; siblings, Norma Faye Simon, and Pat Renolds; and dear friend, Sara Lejune.
Celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2026, at American Legion Hall, 108 West Green Avenue, Orange, Texas.
