William Harold Barker II was born September 8, 1951, and passed away April 27, 2026, at the age of 74.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, playful spirit, and the laughter he brought into every room. A natural jokester, he had a way of lifting people’s moods with a well-timed joke or a mischievous grin. His sense of humor was part of who he was, and it’s something those who knew him will never forget.
He found his greatest peace in the outdoors, whether he was hunting in the quiet of early morning or casting a line out on the water, enjoying the stillness and simplicity of nature. Those moments reflected his appreciation for life’s simple blessings.
A man of faith, he loved God deeply and carried that faith with him in the way he lived and treated others, with kindness, humility, and compassion. His beliefs guided him and gave him strength, and he shared that light with those around him.
He had a saying he loved to share, one that perfectly captured both his humor and his heart: “You better kiss me because you’re going to miss me.” It’s a phrase that will forever echo in the memories of those who loved him, bringing both smiles and tears.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Barker; daughters, Melissa Earls and husband Jim, Misty LeBouef and husband Chris, and Amanda Slaydon; 7 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Mike Barker and wife Nancy, Ricky Barker, and Jessie Slaten and significant other Bryon; and numerous extended family, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Jessie Barker; siblings, Barbara Burnett, and Gary Barker.
Cremation was entrusted to Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
