At the Nederland Cross Country Meet Saturday the LCM boys and girls team finished in first place. Eli Peveto won the boys 3 mile with a time of 17:00. Rayce Piper 4th, Blake Kresser 7th, Cameron Blanchard 15th, Jackson Baeza 21st, JC Copley 22nd, Brad Couture 25th. Boyd Lee, 73, of Orange, Texas passed away on September 10, 2015, in Beaumont. Born in Normangee, Texas, on January 4, 1942, he was the son of Robert O’Dell Lee and Edith Farrar Lee. R. Boyd was employed as an electrical engineer by DuPont in Victoria, Texas upon his graduation. Orange Man Sentenced
A man from Orange was sentenced in Beaumont Friday to 40 years in state prison for beating and robbing senior citizens. 43-year-old Preston Joseph Robertson, who sometimes went by the last name Robinson, was sentenced in state district court Friday after pleading guilty to aggravated robberies in Nederland and Beaumont last year. Robertson is under indictment in Orange County for aggravated robbery in connection with beating and robbing an 83-year-old man in Little Cypress. A court date has not been set.
