Pinehurst Improvements
A stated goal of Pinehurst City Administrator Robbie Hood is improving the curb appeal of Pinehurst. Hood spoke to the Pinehurst City Council this week about three areas he would like to address to make Pinehurst more family friendly and appealing. The first is enhancing the facilities at the West Park. Working with Entergy, Hood has recently had the lighting at the park greatly improved. Hood elaborated on his future plans for the park. The Bobcat Express derailed last week as Orangefield lost to Kirbyville. Coach Josh Smalley hopes the Bobcats will rebound this Friday night against the Beaumont Kelly Bulldogs. Coach Smalley looks at how the Bulldogs line up on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Boat Ramp Rules
Groups wanting to use the City of Orange Boat Ramp will have to make a formal written request and follow a set of rules. The Orange City Council has approved the rules developed by the city staff. City Economic Director Jay Trahan said the staff had handled the use of the park "on an individual basis." However, more people want to use the park, which is off Simmons Drive along the Sabine River.
