Pirates Host West Sabine

  For most of last Friday night the Deweyville Pirates appeared destined to win their second game of the season, but a late touchdown by Woodville spoiled the victory party for Deweyville. This week is homecoming for the Pirates. Coach Lance Dale looks at the offense for the West Sabine Tigers. Dale says the Tigers are a running team that gets into a double tight ends and double wings with a one back set. Courthouse Repairs

The marble on the front of the Orange County Courthouse is still being stabilized by scaffolding, but the Commissioners Court is investigating means of getting it repaired permanently. Susan Gammage with the Historical Commission discussed its program and benefits during a special session of the Court Monday. Commissioner Barry Burton says the reason for the presentation is to see if the Historical Commission could help pay for renovations and repairs to the Courthouse. Bears and Tigers on KOGT Friday

The first win of the season for the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears has Coach Randy Crouch excited about the improvement his Bears are showing each week. Crouch compliments the Bears offense for playing extremely well and did an outstanding job moving the football creating problems for Hardin-Jefferson’s defense. Beau Bickham was credited by Crouch as having played very well. Both Samuel King and Chris Winters ran the ball effectively in the contest. Patricia Ann Ahlgrim, 72, of Orange passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born on August 3, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas to parents Mae Bell (Holzer) and Ralph Donald Cochrum. She had lived in the Orange area since 1969 and she was of the Baptist Faith. Pat was manager of Circle K in Orange for many years. She enjoyed going hunting, making dolls and she loved spending time with her family.
