The LCM Lady Bears have forced a Game 3 in their series with Hudson after a 17-7 win Friday in Jasper.
It was a wild affair as the score indicates. LCM had a 9-1 lead at one point before Hudson mounted a comeback. It was 11-7 and Hudson had the bases loaded and their best hitter at the plate in the sixth when Tessa Erickson got Avery Fondren to pop up to end the inning. The Bears would put six on the board in the seventh off of Hudsons third pitcher.
Abby Sepulvado and Kendall Jones had two hits, two RBI’s, two walks and four runs scored. Embree Ewing was credited with 4 RBI’s and Erickson added three. There were also key hits from Brylie Jones and Ashley Garcia. Erickson had to come back into the game after pitching the first four innings to get the win.
“The girls responded after the loss and brought their bats tonight,” said Head Coach Dena Adkins. “Tessa came back into the game to get the out we needed. It’s tough to do that as a pitcher. Especially after she threw more than 90 pitches last night. She’s a warrior.” First pitch Saturday is 4pm. The winner will play Livingston in the second round.
