Crash Involves Patrol Vehicle
At approximately 2:30pm Wednesday, a Vidor police officer observed a large piece of debris in the eastbound right lane of Interstate 10 in Vidor. The police officer turned on all emergency lights and got out of his patrol car to remove the debris from the roadway. An 18-wheeler slowed down in the right lane to avoid striking the patrol vehicle. A second 18-wheeler failed to control speed and struck the stopped truck in the rear. The Commissioners Court approved Tuesday a recommendation to designate Missy Pillsbury a department head as Risk Manager for the county. Burglar Steals Shoes
A house burglar locked the family dog in a bathroom as Nike shoes and video games were stolen. A woman living at a house in the 3600 block of Hemlock Street told Orange police she left about 2:30 Monday afternoon. When she returned about three hours later, she discovered a kitchen window was open and the dog was locked in the bathroom, according to Officer Nicholas Medina.
