Someone wasn't happy on their birthday. Orange police report that a woman smeared icing and cake all over the walls and ceiling of a kitchen and took a valuable diamond ring. Officer Justin Kirkpatrick said he went to a house in the 3100 block of Oakmont Drive about 2 a.m. Thursday. The resident of the house said she had gotten a call about 8:30 p.m. telling her she better get home or her house would be destroyed. The Bridge City Lady Cardinal Basketball Team played in the Nederland Tourn. Freshman went 2-0 on the day to improve to 4-0 on the year. The BC Varsity lost both games. Losing to Dayton 53-33 and losing to Nederland 43-38 in a tight battle. Ashley Beam had 15 points and Kassidy Wilbur scored 12. BC is 1-3 on the year. On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, the Angelina & Neches River Authority (ANRA) experienced a catastrophic failure of the sanitary sewer collection system at its North Angelina County Regional Wastewater Facility (NACRWF) located at 996 Edgewood Drive, Lufkin, TX. A manhole on the main trunk line collapsed at the entrance of the wastewater treatment facility resulting from localized flooding during the thunderstorms that occurred on November 17th. Robber Gets 30 Years
State District Judge Dennis Powell is sending an armed robber to prison for 30 years. 23-year-old Freddie Crochett IV of Orange pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery for pointing a long-gun at two employees in a June hold-up at Sun Loan Co. Crochett, who had no previous felony record, opted to have the judge give his punishment. Crochett and his mother testified in his behalf. Assistant District Attorney Krispen Walker had one of the robbery victims testify. Judge Powell, who presides in the 163rd District Court, gave the punishment as 30 years. One Arrest Turns Into Three
Narcotics officers early Tuesday morning searched a Pinehurst house and arrested a man for having methamphetamine and a stolen shotgun. In addition, the officers found almost $2,000 in cash plus four more firearms. Later that day, two more men were arrested at the same house on separate drug charges. The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation, Inc. received a visit and gift from members of the Reunion Committee from the Little Cypress classes of 1953 to 1972.
