Chilly temps didn't keep the crowd away from another great Orange Christmas Parade sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. Besides the parade entries the streets were lined with excited boys and girls, a live band, and hot chocolate and other goodies from MacArthur Drive down to Green Ave. Entergy won the Grand Marshal Award while the Judges Choice Award went to LCCA Express. Home Depot won the Commercial Category and Cowboy Church won the non-profit category. LCM Band and the Honey Bears won the School Division. Mustangs Going Back To State!
The West Orange-Stark Mustangs scored 28 points in the second quarter to take a commanding 35-0 lead at the half, and then coasted to a 49-7 win over Navarro Friday night at NRG Stadium. The win sends WOS back to State for the third time, looking to go Back To Back 4AD2 Champions. They will face the Sweetwater Mustangs, who upset Gilmer 48-35. The game will be at AT&T Stadium on Friday at noon. KOGT will be there with the live play by play. Ben was born in Beardstown, Illinois, on December 22, 1924, and passed away December 10, 2016. He was the son of Chester and Gladys (Crable) Thompson. Ben served in World War II and the Korean War with the U.S. Navy. He worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Orange for 32 years. The Lady Mustangs of West Orange-Stark are under a new head coach as Tiffany McFatter has taken the reins this season. She takes over from Randy Ragsdale after serving one year as his assistant. Coach McFatter has three returners from last season’s team and a familiar face coming back to the Lady Mustangs. It's a building you can't miss when you're driving Loop 610 South in Houston. As much as we marveled over the Astrodome as a kid the old dome can fit inside the massive NRG Stadium.
