The City of Orange Natatorium will open for the season Thursday morning at 6 for adult swim. The public pool will charge $2 a day for residents of Orange and $4 a day for non-residents. Operating hours will begin from 6 to 8 a.m. for adult swim on Mondays through Fridays. Open Swim will be Tuesdays through Fridays from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 8 p.m. on weekends. Court Holds Budget Workshop
The first budget workshop for the coming fiscal year was held Thursday morning. The Commissioners Court heard requests by department heads and discussed past, present, and future budget needs for those departments. County Judge Brint Carlton summarized this initial round of budget requests as productive after meeting with representatives from the Mosquito Control District, the Texas AgriLife Office, and the Road and Bridge Department. Skimmer Found On Gas Pump
Employees at a convenience store on FM 1130 found an illegal credit card skimmer on a pump Wednesday and called Orange police. Officer T.P. Pruitt reported the pumps had been checked on Tuesday evening. When they were checked about 4 p.m. Wednesday, an employee discovered Pump 7 appeared to have been tampered. He got the key and opened the pump, he discovered an electronic device that steals credit card information had been installed. Officer Pruitt confiscated the device and detectives are investigating.
