Michael G. Rodgers was born August 31, 1955, and passed away September 23, 2026, at the age of 71.
Michael was a tugboat captain for 43 years, proudly spending much of his life working on the water out of Orange, Texas. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and camping, and enjoyed his passion for collecting guns. In his free time, Michael loved playing video games, spending time with his family, and being with his beloved dogs.
Michael will be remembered for the life he built, the things he loved, and the many memories he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
He is survived by his wife of 3 years, Shirley Rodgers; children, Chad Premeaux and wife Farrah, Michael Kevin Rodgers and wife Lydia, Stephen Rodgers and wife Ashley, and Corey Rodgers and wife Raychell; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Earlene Williams and husband Fred; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Casper and Harley.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda G. Rodgers; parents, Riley and Lorena Rodgers; and siblings, Cleveland Rodgers, Joey Rodgers, and Barbara Rodgers.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Dorman – Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Visitation will resume at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2026, at Dorman – Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Rev. Ronnie Hennigan will be officiating. Interment to follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery, Orange, Texas.
