Thursday morning around 7:20am firefighters from several agencies were called to house fire on Med Davis Rd. which is a short dead end road just west of the IH-10 and Hwy. 62 intersection off the north service road.
The homeowner said she was in the bedroom of her rent house preparing to leave when she smelled something peculiar. She went to investigate and found flames near the kitchen.
Firefighters put the fire out quickly, keeping it from spreading outside of the home.
