
Gene Brown Lindsey Jr., 75, of Vidor, died Monday, May 16, 2026, at his residence. Born in Paris, Gene was raised in Paris and lived the last 50 years in Southeast Texas. He worked for many years as a data programmer and was known for his love of cooking. Gene especially enjoyed creating recipes and compiling his own cookbook for family and friends to enjoy.
He is survived by his children, Rodney Lindsey of Vidor, Amanda Hankins of Beaumont, Gene Lindsey III and wife Leah of Orange, and Elizabeth Lindsey of Vidor; his siblings, Judy Liles of Paris, John Lindsey and wife Marsha of Van Alstyne, and Cynthia Finley of Paris; as well as 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and other beloved family members.
Gene will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his quiet dedication to his work, and the joy he found in cooking for those he loved.
