Coy Bruce Schubarth, 40, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on January 4, 2025, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on August 12, 1984, he was the son of Coy Harold Schubarth and Sylvia Marie (Melancon) Schubarth. Bruce was a beloved figure in his community and carved out a life filled with purpose and service. He had a career marked by dedication and hard work. He proudly served as a retired volunteer firefighter for Bridge City, where he played an important role in safeguarding his community. In addition to his firefighting work, he spent time working on a tugboat and later as a security guard, showcasing his diverse skills and commitment to helping others. Throughout his life, Bruce was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He had a unique ability to make people laugh, bringing joy to those around him. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he cherished the moments he spent with them. He also had a special bond with his dogs, who brought great happiness to his life. One of Bruce’s proudest accomplishments was being named Firefighter of the Year for Junior Firefighters, an honor he earned in the same year that his father was recognized named Firefighter of the Year with the Senior Firefighters. Bruce will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on through the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the lives he touched.

He is survived by his parents, Coy and Sylvia Schubarth; siblings, Dale W. Schubarth, Russell Schubarth and Chrystal Vercher, and Shana McCloud; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
