Bridge City and Orangefield swept their way into the second round of the baseball playoffs.
BC beat Splendora 7-2 Friday and will face Sweeny (21-6) in the the second round. Sweeny beat Scarborough 17-0. Logan Hamm got the win and Tanner Wilson was 3-3 with 3 RBI’s.
Orangefield shutout Corrigan-Camden 10-0 behind the pitching of Landen Tomlinson who struck out nine in the shutout. Kent Michael went 3-3 at the plate. OF (18-10) will play New Waverly in the Area Round.
LCM lost two at home Friday and were eliminated in the bi-district round. They lost Game Two 5-4 to force a Game Three which lasted 10 innings before Liberty got the win 6-5.
Deweyville was eliminated after losing Game Two to Iola 11-3.
