Senior catcher Carson Worthy opened the 11th inning with a Home Run and the Orangefield Bobcats defeated the Grandview Zebras 2-1 in Game One of the 3AD1 Region 3 Semifinal.
The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead in the second. Worthy walked and Colton Michael came in to courtesy run. Michael reached third before scoring on a wild pitch.
The Zebras would tie the game on a wild pitch from Carson Gonzales in the fourth and it would stay that way although the Bobcats had their chances. Orangefield left runners on base in every inning but the fourth and the seventh.
Gonzales had another great outing. He went toe to toe with Zebra starter Drew Milner. He gave up just one run on four hits with 12K’s and one walk in eight innings. Milner also struck out 12 in just 6.2 innings but also walked five and hit two. Kaysen Click came in and continued with Gonzales started with six strikeouts in 3 innings with only one hit.
Game Two is set for Friday at 7pm back at Waller HS. If a Gm. 3 is necessary it will be Saturday at 1pm.
