
Bridge City High School announces its Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2026.
VALEDICTORIAN
Zoee Buchanan, daughter of Christa Hardy and Shawn Buchanan, will graduate as the Valedictorian of Bridge City High School’s Class of 2026. Over the past four years, Zoee dedicated her time to the Strutters drill team, serving as a Lieutenant for two years and Captain during her senior year. She won numerous dance awards such as All-American Dance Company two years in a row, All-American Outstanding Performer her junior year, and recently received the title of Strutter of the Year. Zoee also served as President of National Honor Society, Secretary of En Croix, and a member of student council, where she was a Senior Class Representative. She took on many additional leadership roles, including serving as a RYLA counselor and being part of the YLSET team during her junior year. In addition to her many achievements, Zoee completed more than 50 hours of college coursework and recently earned a General Studies certificate from Lamar State College Orange this spring. In the fall, Zoee will attend Lamar University to pursue the pre-med track, majoring in psychology or biology, with plans to pursue a career in neurology.
SALUTATORIAN
Emma Ann Buysse is the daughter of Nathan and Jennifer Buysse. Emma will be graduating as the Salutatorian of Bridge City High School’s Class of 2026. Over her past four years, Emma has dedicated her time to the Bridge City Tennis team, where she served as Captain her senior year. Alongside leading the tennis program, she was also a three-time district champion and regional qualifier, was recognized by coaches throughout Southeast Texas by receiving the SETCA Girls Tennis Player of the Year award, and earned 1st Team Academic All-State for both seasons. Outside of her athletic participation, she was also a part of the National Honor Society. Serving as Vice President her senior year. Along with her many accomplishments, Emma has earned over 50 hours of college credit, and this spring she received her certificate in General Studies from Lamar State College Orange. She has also had the honor of being named the Bridge City High School’s “Student of the Month” in May. In the fall. Emma will attend the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a degree in Business.
