Around 12:30am Wednesday the Orange Fire Dept received a report of a structure fire in an 1100 block of John Avenue. According to fire personnel when they arrived on scene, they found a single story structure with heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear area of the structure.
The homeowner, Mr. Degay, came home to find it on fire and immediately called 911. No one else was inside of the residence at the time.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the home appears to be a total loss. Firefighters from the City of Orange, West Orange, and Orange County ESD3 responded to the fire along with Orange Police. The investigation is on going by the city of Orange Fire Marshall. Red Cross was called in to assist the home owner.
