The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated a crash on state Highway 62, south of Interstate Highway 10, that occurred Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 9:30 a.m., a Lexus LS was traveling south and slowed to make a right turn. It is reported that the driver of a Chevrolet Trailblazer failed control her speed, struck the rear of the Lexus and overturned after impact.
The driver of the Lexus, identified as 59-year-old Van Nguyen of Orange, and one adult passenger were not injured.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 30-year-old Layne Boudreaux of Lafayette, La. was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Boudreaux was cited for fail to control speed.
