
Floyd Reeves Jr. was born October 31, 1945, and passed away August 18, 2026, at the age of 80.
Floyd was a kind and thoughtful man who never met a stranger. He had a warm heart and a genuine way of making people feel welcome and cared for.
Floyd proudly served in the United States Army and carried that same spirit of service into his life and community. He had a passion for woodworking and took great pride in working with his hands and creating things for others to enjoy.
Floyd was a faithful member of Little Cypress Baptist Church in Orange, Texas, where he gladly served others. He was a valued member of the Men’s Kitchen Crew and faithfully served on the security team. His willingness to help and his love for his church family were a meaningful part of his life.
Floyd will be remembered for his kindness, thoughtfulness, strong faith, and the way he welcomed everyone he met. He leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his family, friends, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Janice Reeves; children, Bryan Parsons (Tonia), Jennifer Simmons and husband Jeromy, Brandon Reeves, and Staci Tigue; grandchildren, Brynna Parsons, Keely Parsons, Samara Simmons, and Savannah Reeves; siblings, Ovie Reeves and wife Kristin, Dottie Windham and husband Bill, and Debbie Cordova and husband Mike.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ruby Reeves; siblings, Tony Reeves and Cheryl Renforo.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2026, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Pastor David Turner will be officiating. Internment to follow at Ida Wilson Cemetery, Orange, Texas.
