
On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 11:04 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a disturbance near the 200 Block of Med Davis Road in Orange.
Deputies responded to the scene and found a white female lying on the ground in front of a travel trailer with several large lacerations to her body. Deputies also located a white male near the female victim with a laceration to his body. Deputies and first responders began life saving measures on both subjects.
While deputies were treating the male subject, he began to resist and was detained. The female victim and male were transported by ambulance to a hospital in Beaumont. The female, identified as 28-year-old Jacqueline Michelle Jeffrey, later died at the hospital.
An autopsy for Jeffrey has been ordered by Jefferson County JP Pct. 1 Ben Collins.
The 45-year-old male remains detained by Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies pending formal charges.
