
On Monday, July 6, the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers arrested a Beaumont woman following a crash in Orange County on Interstate Highway 10 west, near the MLK overpass.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Hyundai Elantra was traveling east. It is reported that the driver was intoxicated and traveling east in the westbound lane where she struck a Ford pickup that was traveling west. After impact, the Ford traveled off the road to the right and the Hyundai was struck by two other vehicles traveling west.
Incredibly there were no injuries reported.
The driver, identified as 43-year-old Stacey Montgomery of Beaumont, was placed under arrest and transported to the Orange County jail for driving while intoxicated, a felony offense, and possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor offense. Montgomery also had a warrant for her arrest for driving while intoxicated.
This is an ongoing investigation.
