Two people from Orange County were indicted by a Grand Jury in Jefferson County for assaulting Registered Nurses.
Samarius Anderson, 30, of Orange, was indicted of assault of hospital personnel on hospital property, a third degree felony.
According to court records, on the afternoon of July 8 Anderson was at St. Elizabeth Hospital attempting to enter a restricted area. He was described as being in a manic state and behaving erratically. A female registered nurse attempted to stop him from entering the restricted area and he punched her in the face causing her pain and visible injuries.
Marvin Gallier, 58, of Vidor, was also indicted for assault of hospital personnel on hospital property, a third degree felony.
Gallier was inside Baptist Hospital on July 14 screaming, cussing and being disruptive according to reports. A male registered nurse attempted to retrieve “bloodwork” from Gallier while asking him to calm down. Gallier then got up from his bed, grabbed a chair that was in the room and threw it at the nurse causing an injury to his leg. Gallier was then jailed for the assault.
