Larry was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. He was known for his ability to fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His giving heart, kind spirit, and selfless nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Larry was the type of man who never hesitated to put others before himself, and his generosity touched countless lives.
One of Larry’s greatest blessings was sharing life with his high school sweetheart, Kathy. Together they built a loving marriage filled with cherished memories, unwavering devotion, and a deep friendship that endured throughout their 28 plus years together.
Larry will be dearly missed by his wife of 28 + years, Kathy Self of Baytown, Texas; sons, Daniel Cantu and wife, Mysty, of Baytown, Texas, and Garrett Self of Baytown, Texas; father, Harry “Buddy” Self of Vidor; sisters, Teri Young of Vidor, Texas, and Cynthia Ballard and husband, Donnie, of North Carolina; brother, Michael Massengill and wife, Carla, of North Carolina; grandson, Jasper Cantu; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family members, and friends.
