Robert (Thomas) Stanfield, a devoted family man, skilled tradesman, and proud veteran, passed away December 19th, 2024, at the age of 79.
Born on August 22,1945, Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army before dedicating his career as a pipe fitter with Pipefitters Local 195. His hard work, craftsmanship, and commitment to his trade left an enduring legacy among his colleagues and community.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie D and Ruth Stanfield, his siblings Langston Stanfield, Elaine Hammerly, Fern Stanfield and his daughter Crystal Strohmaier.
Thomas had a passion for the simple joys in life. He cherished mornings at the local donut shop, catching up with his buddies, sharing laughs, and swapping stories. A true high school football enthusiast, he was a steadfast supporter of the LCM and WOS teams, rarely missing a game and cheering from the sidelines with unwavering enthusiasm. He will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and dedication to the people and teams he loved.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Jayne Wittschen, and her husband Kevin; their children, Dane and Jace; his other grandchildren Lauren Strohmaier, and JT Clanton; and his great-grandchildren, Harmony and Anna; and a host of friends and fellow pipefitters who will deeply miss his presence and camaraderie.
A service to celebrate Thomas’s life will be held on January 25th at 10:00 A.M. at the Cowboy Church of Orange.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a local high school sports program or veterans’ organization reflecting Thomas’ enduring love for his community.
