Rocky Gonzales was born September 16, 1961, and passed away September 18, 2026, at the age of 65.
Rocky was a proud graduate of Little Cypress High School. He went on to attend McNeese State University on a football scholarship, carrying with him the same determination and hard work that would become such an important part of his life.
He retired from the papermill after 39 years of dedicated service. Rocky truly enjoyed his work and the friendships he made with his work buddies over the years. He was a hard worker who took pride in providing for his family and giving his best in everything he did.
Outside of work, Rocky loved hunting and outdoors, but nothing compared to the love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved spending time with his grandkids and making memories with them. Rocky also loved spoiling his wife, Sherri, and taking care of her in his own special way.
Rocky was a giver at heart. He enjoyed making others happy and was always willing to do what others wanted to do. He was the kind of person who often put others before himself, giving his time, his help, and his love freely.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sherri Gonzales; sons, Rocky Gonzales Jr., and Hunter Gonzales and wife Mikaela; grandchildren, Riley Gonzales, Marley Gonzales, Brooks Gonzales, and Hayes Gonzales; mother, Laverne Gonzales; sisters-in-law, Pamela Falgout and husband Rudy, and Rebecca Blissett and husband Mark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bernie Gonzales; and brother, Ricky Gonzales.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2026, at Dorman – Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 8808 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas. Bro. Henry Gonzales will be officiating.
