Two House Fires Reported
Bridge City firefighters responded to a fire Sunday at 241 Joel Street which is off of West Roundbunch, about 2.5 miles from Texas Ave. The fire was believed to have started in the back of the house. No one was injured. Friday morning a woman turned on a fan at her home on Ironwood in the Cypress Bayou neighborhood in Little Cypress and left it on as she left the house to run an errand. Orange Police say the body of a 29 year female from Lousiana was found in a ditch Saturday morning on the south side of the I-10 Service Rd. just east of 23rd Street. Cards Run Over Indians For Homecoming
The Bridge City Cardinals scored on their first four possessions and rolled up more than 400 yards of offense as they beat Cleveland 42-3 for Homecoming. The Cardinals put together scoring drives of 69, 62, 48, and 75 yards to take a 28-3 lead at the half. QB Byron Trahan scored all four TD's on short quarterback sneaks. After a scoreless third, Patrick Morris scored on a 23 yard scamper and Hunter Denton went 23 for the other TD. There was a brown out in Liberty Friday night. As Panther running back Alex Brown turned out the lights on the Orangefield Bobcats in the second half as he led the Liberty Panthers to a 42-27 victory at War Memorial Stadium. Liberty (7-0, 1-0) remains undefeated on the season after securing the win in the opening game of District 12-4A, Div II. Mustangs Roll For Homecoming
The West Orange-Stark Mustangs stayed undefeated and posted their sixth shutout in seven wins as they outmanned Hamshire-Fannett 68-0.
