The decomposed body of a missing 44-year-old woman from Orange was found Thursday wrapped up in carpet in Hackberry, Louisiana. Friday the Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office announced the confirmation the body was identified as Kristie Lynn Combs. Combs' family reported her missing to the Orange Police Department in September. Police issued a media release on the woman on September 27 and asked for the public's help. Police said she was last seen in late June or early July at a house on Boondocks Road in Fannett, Texas. PPD Receives $6000 For Participation
The Pinehurst Police Department received two checks Friday from the Texas Department of Transportation. Each check of $3,000 was presented to the police in Pinehurst as grant funds for their participation in TxDOT’s Click-it Or Ticket Program. Bridgett Hlavinka of TxDOT presented the checks to Lt. Keith Reneau who handled the grant requests for the Pinehurst Police Department and Patrolman Mark Grizzaffi at the Pinehurst City Hall. Lt. Orange police are investigating gunshots fired Thursday night at Link and Eighth streets. Bullets hit the walls of a house at the intersection, but no one was hurt. Police were called at 7 p.m. to the block because of the shots. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said a fight had been going on nearby.
