Body Of Missing Woman Found

The decomposed body of a missing 44-year-old woman from Orange was found Thursday wrapped up in carpet in Hackberry, Louisiana. Friday the Cameron Parish Sheriff's Office announced the confirmation the body was identified as Kristie Lynn Combs. Combs' family reported her missing to the Orange Police Department in September. Police issued a media release on the woman on September 27 and asked for the public's help. Police said she was last seen in late June or early July at a house on Boondocks Road in Fannett, Texas. PPD Receives $6000 For Participation

The Pinehurst Police Department received two checks Friday from the Texas Department of Transportation.  Each check of $3,000 was presented to the police in Pinehurst as grant funds for their participation in TxDOT’s Click-it Or Ticket Program.  Bridgett Hlavinka of TxDOT presented the checks to Lt. Keith Reneau who handled the grant requests for the Pinehurst Police Department and Patrolman Mark Grizzaffi at the Pinehurst City Hall.  Lt. Barbara Jane Turner, 70, of Orange, passed away on December 1, 2016, at her home in Orange. A memorial service will be 7:00 PM, Monday, December 5, 2016, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Glenn Perritt. Visitation will precede the service, starting at 6:00 PM Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on January 25, 1946, she was the daughter of Robert M. Jane Lynnette Honeycutt, 83, of Orange, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Cremation is under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home. Jane was born on Sunday, May 21, 1933, to the late Blon D Decker and birth father, John J. Thompson, in Atlanta, Texas. At the age of 2, Jane moved with her family to Orange, Texas, where she remained a resident for the remainder of her life. Jane was a devout Christian woman, of the Baptist faith, and was an active member of the North Orange Baptist Church. Mustangs Win Third Straight Region 3 Title

After falling behind 5-0 early, the West Orange-Stark Mustangs responded in a big way with  48 unanswered points in a 48-5 win Friday in Porter. Jack Dallas scored three times and threw two TD passes.  One to KJ Miller and another to Jeremiah Shaw, who also scored on a 29 yard Touchdown run. Bullets Hit Home In Orange

Orange police are investigating gunshots fired Thursday night at Link and Eighth streets. Bullets hit the walls of a house at the intersection, but no one was hurt. Police were called at 7 p.m. to the block because of the shots. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said a fight had been going on nearby.
