2016 Year In Review
The Sabine River rose and spilled over onto the land to cause historic flooding levels. March 2016 will be remembered for the flood that covered most of Deweyville and the east side of Orange County. The flood and the amount of water rushing down river is obviously the top story for the past year. However, a disaster could be forming for medical care. Orange County for the first time in more than a century will have to learn to live without a hospital for emergencies. Terron Brown of WOS was named to the All-Tournament Team of the East Chambers Tournament. The Mustangs finished third in the gold bracket. WOS defeated LaMarque 58-57 with Brown scoring 13 and pulling down 10 boards. Bretlin White added 14 pts and Cory Skinner 13. WOS lost to College Station 56-27. LCM Basketball Competes At EC
The LCM Bears wrapped up the East Chambers Tournament with a tough 44-42 loss to Jasper Friday afternoon. LCM had a 24-19 lead at the half. Katon Brown lead the Bears with 17 points and 10 boards and Braden Bridges scored 15. LCM is now 13-9 on the season and will host Hardin-Jefferson Tuesday. Friday morning the Bears beat Corsicana 58-49. Ayson Simmons scored 25 to lead the Bears and Katon Brown had 19. Thursday- LCM lost to Pasadena Rayburn 45-42 and defeated the host Buccaneers 57-49.
