Eino J. Lilback, Jr. died on May 2, 2017 due to complications from vascular dementia. He was 75 and had lived in Orange, TX for over 40 years. As per his wishes, there will be no service. Eino was born in Winchendon, MA on Feburary 3, 1942 and grew up in Fitzwilliam, NH with his parents (Eino Sr. and Mary) and twin brother Reino (who died in 2002). He graduated with BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. The city charter requires a candidate to win 50 percent plus 1 vote for a win. Salter had 204 votes, or 44 percent, with Smith getting 134 votes or 29 percent. The BC Cardinals won twice Saturday to take their series against Huntington. They will face Liberty. The Lady Cardinals also won twice vs. Liberty to advance to Round 3. The Orangefield Bobcats rebounded from a loss in Game 2 of the series to dominate the District 21-4A Champion Lufkin Hudson Hornets in the decisive third game played Saturday at Paul Cormier Field in Orangefield. The Bobcats took an early lead and won the ball game 7-1 to advance to the Area Round of the state playoffs in Coach Tim Erickson’s first season at Orangefield. Sabine Federal Credit Union and the City of Pinehurst joined together to bring the members of the credit union and citizens of Pinehurst their first Spring Shred Day on April 29, 2017. Over 250 cars lined the parking lot of Sabine FCU during the event with a total shred amount of 19,000 pounds of paper!
