
On Thursday, July 2, 2026, investigators with the Orange Police Department’s Narcotics Division, assisted by the West Orange Police Department, conducted a traffic stop on a black Dodge Ram 2500 for a traffic violation within the City of Orange.
The driver, who was the vehicle’s sole occupant, was identified as 65-year-old Richmond Daughtery of Orange. According to investigators, the stop was part of an ongoing investigation into Daughtery’s alleged possession and distribution of illegal narcotics in the city.
During the stop, Daughtery consented to a search of the vehicle. Investigators located suspected narcotics, leading to his arrest.
Daughtery was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, Greater Than 400 Grams, a first-degree felony. He was transported to the Orange County Jail.
The Orange Police Department thanked the Texas Department of Public Safety, the West Orange Police Department, and the Beaumont Police Department K-9 Division for their assistance in the investigation.
