Nancy Claire Hatton, 69, of Beaumont, passed away on April 10, 2021.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Praise Church in Beaumont. Officiating will be Sr. Pastor Reg Lloyd. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m., April 15, 2021, at Praise Church in Beaumont.
Born in Orange, Texas, on January 12, 1952, she was the daughter of Larry Lee Duhon and Betty Ruth (Estes) Duhon. Nancy had a giving heart, she spent a lot of her time volunteering, and serving in her church and her community. She loved more than anything to worship Jesus, and was heavily involved in Hope Woman’s Resource Clinic since her retirement. Nancy grew up in Orange, graduating from Stark High School where she was in the choir. Nancy was crowned Miss Teen of Beaumont. She went on to attend Harding University in Arkansas and later graduated from Lamar University. Nancy was involved in the Beaumont Rotary Club for many years. She was a sales woman for Colonial Insurance and later, an educator at Lumberton Elementary School for 22 years before retiring. Nancy was a mentor, a confidant, and a positive influence for many youth throughout the years. She adored and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Nancy embodied “a sweet spirit”, she was gentle, peaceful, patient, and always fashionably late. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and all who had the pleasure to know her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Duhon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Roy “Mike” Michael Hatton, Sr.; mother, Betty Duhon, of Orange; daughters, Avy Heather Williams and husband Amon, of Ft. Worth, Holly-Nan Furlow and husband Lonnie, of Lumberton, Olivia Schutt and husband Jack, of College Station; sons by marriage, Roy Michael Hatton, Jr., of Bartlesville, OK, John Marty Hatton, of Nederland; grandchildren, Hadley Williams, of Ft. Worth, Zachary Williams, of Ft. Worth, Payden Furlow, of Lumberton, and Cameron Furlow, of Lumberton; sister, Betsy Davis and husband Richard, of Mesa, AZ; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Honorary pallbearers are Ed Lampman, Charles Landreneau, Lonnie Furlow, Jack Schutt, Marty Hatton, Michael Hatton, Payden Furlow, and Logan Perry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Woman’s Recourse Clinic at 3740 Laurel St. Beaumont, Texas 77707.
