Mattie Carolyn Forsythe, age 84, of Lumberton, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in Beaumont, Texas. Services to honor Mattie will be held privately by the family at a later date.
Mattie was born on Tuesday, April 5, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa to parents Rufus Duchesne and Mattie East. She relocated to Orange, Texas in 1950 and worked at Hospital Staffing as an RN for 30 years. Mattie was also a member of First Baptist Church in Orange, Texas for many years.
Those left to cherish Mattie’s memory are her daughter, Chardell Harris and husband Russell Harris of Lumberton, Texas, her son, Fred A. Forsythe and wife Martha Forsythe of Sabine Pass, Texas, her grandson Dan Shaw of Conroe, Texas, her granddaughter Mandy Forsythe of Beaumont, Texas, her sister Gwen Clark of Orange, Texas, and her niece and nephews Amber Clark, Adam Clark, and Jason Clark of Orange, Texas, and Sam and Gina Forsythe.
Arrangements for Mattie were made under the care of Dorman Funeral Home.
