Oklahoma’s unlikely run at the College World Series continued on Wednesday night as the Sooners eliminated the No. 3 seed Georgia Bulldogs 11-4.
OU (41-22) hit five home runs and played fabulous defense to shut down the Bulldogs (53-14) and advance to the CWS Championship Series for the second time in five years.
Oklahoma, winners of eight straight, will play North Carolina (53-12-1) in a best-of-3 series starting Saturday.
The team features Jason Bodin, a relief pitcher from Orangefield. He has not seen action yet at the CWS but he did pitch to one batter in the Super Regional win over Kansas.
