A man working at the Cypress Lake RV Park in Orange suffered a head injury but it could’ve been much worse.
Orange Fire says the man was driving an ATV on the property on Friday when it’s believed he had a medical situation that caused him to pass out and veer off the dirt road towards the (Square) lake which is located just north of Interstate 10 at the intersection of Simmons and Lutcher Drive.
Fortunately, according to Battalion Chief Joe Mires, a stump on the edge of the lake stopped the ATV from plunging into the water.
The man was treated and then brought to a Beaumont hospital by Acadian for evaluation and a laceration on his head.
