Terry Wayne Clark, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas. Born on August 3, 1950, Terry was a life long resident of Orange, Texas.
Known affectionately as “Grumps” to his grandchildren, Terry was a man who always stayed busy and was a true “jack of all trades”. There was never a problem or issue he didn’t want to fix himself. He had a deep love for the outdoors, finding joy in camping and deer hunting. Terry was a hard worker throughout his entire life, dedicating 32 years as a firefighter in the city of Orange before his retirement. He also owned and operated “Care Fire Extinguisher Inc.” serving the Golden Triangle and surrounding areas for over 40 years. Whether it was fighting fires, running fire alarm wire, filling fire extinguishers or installing kitchen systems, he enjoyed getting the job done. His commitment also extended to his street, as a founding member of the Westbury Christmas light tradition, bringing cheer to all that came to view the holiday decorations. Above all, Terry was a devoted and supportive presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren, never missing a game or even practices.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claiborne C. and Zollie Mae “Tate” (McClelland) Clark.
Terry leaves behind his son, Christopher Clark and wife Ashley; his daughter, Angela Clark; his grandchildren, Calleigh Burton, Adrian Clark, and Colin Clark; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest, heartfelt gratitude to Ellie Kohler, whose dedication and 24/7 care allowed him to return to the comfort of his own home for a time. He enjoyed her companionship, and the family is incredibly grateful for her commitment and the comfort she provided him before his move to the nursing home. We are also grateful to the staff at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation for their subsequent care and support.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, November 2, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with burial to follow at Wilkinson Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Troy White, Pat Cook, Justin Brister, Lee Bergeron, Adrian Clark, and Colin Clark. Honorary pallbearers are Lin Bingham, Paul Bingham, Randy Ener, and Ryan Burton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Terry’s memory to For the 343. Terry always had a special place in his heart for the tragedies of 9/11 and all the fallen firefighters that lost their lives that day courageously doing their jobs.
